NLA Health Sciences Fellow Track Applications and Nominations

Eligibility Criteria

NLA Health Sciences Track is designed for mid-career health science professionals. Participants of this program are broadly defined as clinicians, educators, administrators, staff, and researchers who: 

  • Represent a range of personal backgrounds and lived experiences, ages, institution or organization types, professional interests, and years of experience in the health sciences.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to creating more collaborative  environments within their organization, community, and/or institution.
  • Bring expertise in working with students, patients, and/or in administrative leadership in the health sciences.

NLA Alumni include medical education faculty, nursing faculty, executive leaders of public health colleges, physicians, medical residency directors, research associates, and other higher education and hospital administrators.

Application Materials

Prospective NLA Health Sciences Track Fellows are required to submit an application by the respective deadlines (see timeline below). The application is not intended to be cumbersome and can be completed in 30-45 minutes. Prospective Fellows need to submit:

  • Responses to five short answer questions (1000 characters maximum each).
  • Current CV.
  • Contact information for one reference who can speak to the applicant's leadership potential, skills, abilities, and commitment to creating thriving communities.

Individual Program Fee

No payment is necessary until you have been accepted into the NLA Health Sciences Track. Upon your admission notification, you will receive detailed instructions outlining the next steps in the process.  

  • Early-Bird Deadline: Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MT
  • Regular Deadline: Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MT 

Group Program Fee 

Institutions/organizations that wish to send multiple participants may opt into a group program fee which covers participation for up to four NLA Health Sciences Track Fellows.

  • Online Orientation Start Date: January 2025 
  • Coursework Start Date: January 2025
  • NLA Summer Institute: Monday, June 2 – Friday, June 6, 2025 in Ann Arbor, Michigan
