What does the program fee cover?

The program fee covers NLA Health Sciences Track program and curriculum delivery including monthly webinars, asynchronous learning opportunities, professional coaching, and all functions of the Summer Institute (e.g., speakers, most meals, printed materials, etc.).

Please note the program fee does not cover travel and lodging expenses related to the Summer Institute and these are the responsibility of the sponsoring institutions or Fellows themselves.

How are NLA Health Sciences Track Fellows selected?

The NLA Health Sciences Track selection committee is committed to selecting applicants from diverse academic, personal, and professional backgrounds to enhance the fellowship experience and curriculum through the integration of different perspectives, epistemologies, and pedagogies. As such, the selection committee takes an in-depth and holistic approach to each application.

Is there any required in-person attendance?

Yes, there is a required five-day in-person Summer Institute held in Ann Arbor, Michigan from Monday, June 2 – Friday, June 6, 2025.

What does online, synchronous and asynchronous, engagement entail?

The online assignments and engagement include written readings and reflections, leadership development assignments, coaching and mentoring sessions, and monthly webinars. All assignments will be submitted via Canvas.

Who do I get to interact with as an NLA Health Sciences Track Fellow?

As an NLA Health Sciences Track Fellow, you will have the opportunity to interact with distinguished faculty, senior administrators, thought leaders, scholars, and policymakers in both areas of healthcare/health sciences and higher education.
